Cyprus-Syria origins Filep Motwary started off his career assisting as a stylist for the Greek editions of L’Officiel and Vogue. He moved to fashion design and worked for prestigious Houses like John Galliano, Christian Dior and Chloe in early 2000.
Since 2005, Motwary is behind the three times awarded page Un nouVeau iDEAL and has been included in Prestel’s “The World’s Top Fashion Blogs” edited by Susie Bubble and William Oliver in 2011.
He is the Fashion Features Editor of Dapper Dan Magazine and counts approximately 300 interviews since 2004 with pioneers such as Rick Owens, Christian Lacroix, Paolo Roversi, Helmut Lang, Dries Van Noten, Haider Ackermann, Yohji Yamamoto, Christophe Lemaire...
As a photographer he collaborates with the digital Joyce.com in Hong Kong, Vogue.fr, Vogue.it, New Yorker's THE CUT, among others.
Since 2011, he collaborates with Jean Pierre Blanc and the Villa Noailles team for Hyeres Festival.
His costumes have been presented in a respected number of museums, including Hasselt Mode Museum in Belgium, La Gaite Lyrique in Paris, ModeMuseum Utrecht in The Netherlands.
In February 2014, Motwary was invited by Premiere Vision and Zoom by Fatex to exhibit a series of large-scale photographs as a solo show, titled “STREET IT BOYS”. His next photography exhibition will be in Georgia this June as well as in New York in September 2014.
